St.Nicholas 0-8 v  2-17 Naomh Malachi

HT 0-4 v 2-12

Ref; Noel Hand

Naomh Malachi confirmed their place in the knockout rounds of the Junior championship with a convincing win over St.Nicholas in The Grove Friday evening. Both teams traded points in the early part of the first half, Paddy Murtagh with the Nicks score. The remainder of the half was dominated by the Mals leaving the match effectively over as a contest by half time. Late scores from Murtagh, Phillip Kirwan and Jason Maguire were a slight break in Naomh Malachi’s dominance.

Credit to St.Nicholas they battled hard in the second half enjoying much more possession and Murtagh on the mark twice from frees. The second half a much more even affair with both teams playing attacking football and displaying tight defense. Points from Eddie Carr and a fine individual point from Ciaran O’Brien completed a better second half but ultimately Naomh Malachi march on.
