Wolfe Tones 0-12 v St.Nicholas 1-9
HT 0-6 v 1-6
Saturday evening saw local rivals St.Nicholas and the Wolfe Tones share the points in an entertaining division 3 clash. It was the visitors who started best with full forward Jason O'Boyle causing the home defence problems. He added three points, two frees and one from play to put the Nicks into a lead midway through the half. The Tones got themselves back with some well worked scores but it was O'Boyle again who found the back of the net to extend St.Nicholas' lead following some excellent build up play from Sam Reilly and Evan Byrne. Phillip Kirwan and Roy Kierans added points from play to keep the nicks lead at a goal going into the break.
Both teams added to their tally early in the second half, Kirwan again for the Nicks. Midway through the half the Tones began their comeback with three unanswered points. Late points from Johnny Carter and Paddy Murtagh had the Nicks one up going into injury time, but there was one last oppurtunity for the Tones as Niall Smyth drew the sides level with the virtual last kick of the game.
