The men from Reaghstown confirmed their Division 3b title with an impressive victory over St.Nicholas on Friday evening. It was the visitors who started best, dominating possession and the impressive Vinny O'Hare taking two points from play. The nicks were putting pressure on the Wetsterns kick out, leading to Eddie Carr and Phillip Kirwan extending their lead to 4. It wasn't until midway through the half that the home side found their shooting boots and began to pressure the Nicks kick out. A late point from Evan Byrne was the last action before the break.

The second half was an impressive display of forward play from the Westerns. St.Nicholas showed a lot of commitment, rewarded with points from Kirwan, Sam Reilly and Carr, but with the Westerns only kicking one wide in the second half it was ultimately fruitless. A late Alex finneagan goal was a late consolation for the visitors.
