HT 0-5 v 0-3
Referee; Ultan McElroy
Glen Emmets lived up their favourites tag with a strong final quarter to advance to the semi-finals against a spirited St.Nicholas team. In a tense first half, it was the Nicks who started the better with the aid of a strong wind in the Gaelic Grounds. Jimmy Murray with two from play and a Paudi Downey point had the Nicks up 3-2 at the first water break. A goal chance for Sam Reilly was unlucky to hit the bar and register a point extended St.Nicholas lead and a late Phillip Kirwan free had the them up by two at the break.
After a number of changes for the Tullyallen men and the aid of the wind in the second half, the Emmets took the lead to 10-7 at the water break. Another two points for Murray. The final quarter was dominated by the Glen Emmets registering eight points to the Nicks one. The Nicks point coming from another goal chance that struck the bar and went over, this time for Kirwan. A fine late save from Alex Reilly kept his clean sheet intact but ultimately a comprehensive victory for the Glen Emmets.
