St.Nicholas 1-7 v John Mitchells 0-8

HT 0-5 v 0-3

St.Nicholas bounced back from last week's defeat with a tough win over table toppers John Mitchells in Pentony Park on Saturday evening. In a low scoring affair where defences were on top it was Sam Reilly who opened the Nicks account early in the half. Midway through the half two Tadgh Matin frees and a Paudi Downey point extended the home side's lead. A point on the stroke of half time from Phillip Kirwan had the Nicks up by two at the break.

It was the impressive Reilly who registered an early score for St.Nicholas, followed shortly by Caebhan Housidari finding the back of the net. The visitors kept pushing for a late goal but a resolute Nicks defence led by Conor Faulkner held them out and a late Phillip Kirwan free ensured the two points stayed with the Rathmullen men.
