Cuchulainn Gaels 2-5 v 2-8 St.Nicholas

HT 1-2 v 1-5

St.Nicholas came out on top of a tight affair in Omeath on Sunday evening. With aid of the wind in the first half the visitors took an early lead through points from Sam Reilly and Phillip Kirwan. Hayden Quinn continued his good run of firm in front of goal by hitting the net to extend the nicks lead. The Gaels hit straight back with a goal of their own from the next play. A free from Tadgh Martin along with a second point each for Reilly and Kirwan had St.Nicholas up by three at the break.

A Hayden Quinn point at the start of the second extended the lead for the visitors. A Fionn Meagher goal and a breakaway goal for Cuchulainn kept the gap midway through the half. The Nicks began to increase their possession playing into the wind and added to their tally through another dead ball for Martin and a Paudi Downey point. Late pressure from the Gaels was held out by St.Nicholas and they left Páirc Naomh Lorcan with two points in the bag.
